Fit for the Future is alive and kicking in the packaging industry
The last edition of the Macropak trade show, held 5-8 October 2010 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, has proven that the exhibition theme ‘Fit for the Future’ is very much alive in the packaging industry. The success of the seminar program and the variety of exhibitors showed that companies are looking for new technologies and applications. Project manager Marc Klumper is glad that this trade show has added value for visitors. ‘There are growth opportunities in the industry and companies are continuously looking for new directions. Companies are curious to find out what is going on and Macropak offered a lot of answers and themes. In short, if you wanted to be "Fit for the future", you had to visit Macropak.’
The number of visitors to the Industriële Week, with more than 700 exhibitors and total floor area of 25,000 m2, during the four exhibition days was more than 23,000. 55% of these visitors indicated they were interested in Macropak. 34% of visitors was a board member/senior manager and 64% was (co) decision maker within their company. There is a great synergy between the trade shows at the Industriële Week. 60% of visitors also attended the other trade shows, Aandrijftechniek, Industry & Automation and Industrial Processing. Two thirds of visitors to Macropak indicated they will be coming again next time. Half of all visitors is seeing improvements in turnover compared to the previous year.
Growth branches in the packaging industry
Marc Klumper concludes that companies are thinking about growth again after the economic dip in the last few years. ‘Packaging lines are still at the heart of the trade show, but you can see some growth branches in the packaging sector. For the next edition, we would like to have a stronger representation at the trade show of these branches, such as design, co-packaging and bio-packaging. These new themes got a lot of attention in the new seminar program, organized in cooperation with NVC. We are looking forward to again deliver added value at the next edition.’
About the Industriële Week 2010
The Industriële Week 2010 took place 5-8 October in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, with four prominent industrial trade shows: Aandrijftechniek, Industrial Processing, Industry & Automation and Macropak. The entire industrial sector could be found under one roof. Very convenient for the visitors, who are often looking for solutions to multiple problems in their production process. For the first time, the Industriële Week was organized with one coordinated theme: ‘Fit for the future, we know how!’ This theme indicates that the Industriële Week is ready for the future. The focus was on five subthemes: energy, environment, partnership, innovation and safety. The next edition of the Industriële Week will be held from 2-5 October 2012.
